UNDERSTANDING TRAUMA EXPERIENCED
BY AFRICAN AMERICAN/BLACK MALES It seems like on an almost daily basis, we hear about or watch a video or news report of another black male being killed by police. What so many are now becoming “woke to” is simply a glimpse into a sliver of what black men and boys continue to experience on a regular basis. Many governmental agencies, religious organizations, as well as everyday people are trying to understand, maybe even for the first time, how African American/Black males are experiencing trauma and the impact it is having on them. This 10-part series was developed for that purpose.
Matt Burton, who led the Black Men and Boys Healing Summit in 2016 and was recently asked to develop a training series specifically around Black Male Trauma for Trauma Institute International, will be your teacher, trainer, and guide throughout this exciting series. |
